My school magazine evaluation (preliminary task)

Here is my final school magazine cover and contents page


To construct this cover, i used the results from my survey. I used quite bright colours, but they also stuck to the colour scheme of the school. I also used the font calibri as that was the most voted font style. The contents page also continues the theme of the cover and the font. I also included some topics which were voted for in my survey. e.g. an advice column

On my cover, I then mentioned some extra content that was voted for by the people in my magazine. people wanted to see event details, so I put that here.

I think this magazine cover and contents caters to the specific category of educational magazine's. It has a very basic layout, with the cover having the school logo at the top, and both the cover and contents it uses very basic pictures, with info about the school and upcoming events. In addition, they both cater to the audience of students, as it holds basic information, and not too much detail, as students don;t want to waste time with reading information which doesn't apply to them. I engaged the audience by having titles which would grab their attention, with little text and more images.

Analysing pictures (student magazine)

I decided to use this image, because it was very professional and it showed off the building.

I used the second image because it was just a simple landscape. I did crop it because I thought that there was a lot going on in the background.

I used the third picture as it is one of the main parts of the school and lerner.

I didn't use all of my photos, as they didn't all really represent the entire school, and what i talk about in the magazine concerns the whole school
